If you are interested in Irish history you will already know that this weekend marks a major anniversary.

On May 1st 1169 - 850 years ago - the Norman invasion of Ireland began with the arrival of Robert FitzStephen and around 400 warriors from Wales.

The good folks in County Wexford are running a two-day festival near the spot where they landed to commemorate these momentous events … and I'll be there!
